We offer a realistic alternative to costly and debilitating back surgeries. Our successful treatment outcomes come from our extensive experienced determining the exact location and therapy necessary to obtain relief. This expertise allows us to select from the various alternatives to ensure the patients receive the appropriate therapy. Although these therapies may be new to many patients, they are not investigational and are approved by the FDA. We utilize nationally recognized scientific guidelines such as American Society of Interventional Pain Physician Guidelines (ASIPP) and the International Spinal Interventional Society (ISIS) in our treatment plans. Our interventional pain management therapies are committed to managing your pain to allow a return to work and/or the activities you love. New therapies represent a more immediate and lasting form of relief to patients than drugs, physical therapy, or chiropractic manipulation alone. These therapies often offer an localized treatment around the pain generating nerve is often sufficient to give patients acceptable relief. There are also very low complication rates with these less invasive techniques. What to expect on your visit
We will go over your past medical history if applicable. You will be given a physical exam and a detailed interview. Make sure to inform us of any treatment and medications you are taking. For your first appointment you will need to bring any medical records, MRI or CT scan films. If you do not have them, we can help you get them from your past doctor or order some new ones if needed. We begin with an accurate diagnosis of the pain generator. We will determine where your pain is located and the severity of it. Spinal related pain is typically caused by an injured area of tissue close to a nerve. Incoming patients receive a clinical assessment in our exam rooms in order to best understand the history related to the injured area. We will give you a complete exam and go over your past history. After a physical and diagnostic evaluation, we will design a treatment program specifically for you. Diagnostic injections may be performed to allow confirmation of the specific nerve location through a painless injection of anesthetic into the area surrounding the suspected nerve. This process of correctly identifying the nerve generating the pain signal is perhaps the most important step in your treatment process. We treat your pain by reducing the inflammation or desensitizing the painful nerves, spinal discs, joints or muscles responsible for your symptoms. We accomplish this by combining medications and physical modalities with state of the art precise x-ray(fluoroscopy) guided injections.
Many different treatments available
Our comprehensive treatments include injection therapies to block pain such as epidural steroid injections, selective nerve root blocks or facet blocks offer alternatives to major surgery with almost no complications. Implantable spinal cord stimulators are a advanced treatment to allow patients to control their therapy through their own personal remote control while tricking the brain‘s pain signal by sending its own signal to disguise their pain signal. Radiofrequency nerve ablation where the nerve generating the pain signals being sent to your brain are “zapped” or destroyed can completely remove the pain generating nerve from the specific targeted area. Basically, a no pain causing nerve = No Pain for you! We will start with conservative treatments and go from there.
